We had a great in-class Spring module (March 5-16). Our students dug deep and learned more about the way of Jesus, counselling others, and building & facilitating teams, among other things.
We experienced some unpredictable weather, but a few snow storms can't keep us down! Our students and staff alike stepped-up and practiced their leadership skills, grace and flexibility. Good is good; not a single professor missed a flight!
Every module the students are challenged in their Spiritual Formation class to try a new
Spiritual Discipline. In the first week of the module we looked at how our personality
types may draw us to a particular way of praying and studying the scriptures. The
second week we studied how to use Centering Prayer. For more information on these
disciplines and more check out Richard Peace’s book "Meditative Prayer - Entering God’s
Presence."
Threshold Ministries' Dean of Community, Bonnie Hunt led some of the students through an overview of the Threshold Ethos. Here's what Bonnie has to say:
"Our students who are on the Commissioning track do an extra class on Threshold
Ministries Ethos, where we talk about the history and the DNA of TM. This module we
looked at the importance of Self-Care and the Rule of Life for Threshold Ministries, and
how to write our own Rule of Life. These are important subjects to have set early in
your ministry to help avoid burnout and have a healthy balance of ministry/home/social
life." - Bonnie Hunt
